Business of HYPE
HYPEBEAST brought Jon on to produce, direct and edit their flagship podcast - Business of HYPE. Previously the show had been audio only - so a large part of the effort was creating the infrastructure for a video podcast. In just three months Jon revived the podcast - finding and executing the contract for a new Host (Angelo Baque, Creative Director of Awake NY), project managing and conceiving a sponsored segment for Bulleit Bourbon (the season’s sponsor), running pre production and research, finding guests, mixing live sound, and editing all audio and video assets for the season. The five-part limited series features conversations detailing the successful careers of well-known creatives, brand-builders, and entrepreneurs from various corners of streetwear culture.
The Guy
Jon wrote, produced, directed and starred in the midnight short film The Guy which had its online premiere on BloodyDisgusting.com in March 2020. Prior to its online premiere, The Guy garnered official selections on the 2019 film festival circuit at Palm Springs International ShortFest, Brooklyn Film Festival, DC Shorts Film Festival, HollyShorts Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, Lighthouse International Film Festival, BraveMaker Film Festival, and Boston Underground Film Festival, Knoxville Horror Film Fest, and Nightmares Film Festival. It was nominated for Best Cinematography at Nightmares Film Festival and Jon won Best Performance at Knoxville Horror Fim Fest.
NewVHS
Jon is a part of the sketch comedy video collective NewVHS. Part parody, part satire, and part nostalgia overload—NewVHS takes on the best and the worst of 80s and the 90s, with a twist. All the videos are throwbacks to analog technology, shot digitally and run through multiple VHS channels in post-production to achieve their signature look.
No Film School
Jon was responsible for running all video production at No Film School while employed. This included managing a team of editors, shooters, and reporters every year at the National Association of Broadcasters conventions in Las Vegas. Each day his team would shoot, edit, and publish 40 videos in less than 24 hours - accounting for around 120 videos per trip. This led to millions of views over the coming months.
You’re Not The Boss of Me Productions
Jon has written and directed spots for multiple clients as part of his production company, as well as hopped on as executive producer for shorts in need of some extra help.
The example on the right is an internal video for Dropbox he wrote and directed back in 2019.
